Aos Meus Amores 2.0
11 Jan - 29 Fev

Álvaro Rosendo presents, in the Cistern Gallery, version 2.0 of “Aos Meus Amores”.

On January 11, 2020, the day of its inauguration, the moments it took to take its image are measured in decades, and the artist now presents the result of exhaustive work in the selection, digitization and treatment of the negative archive (1979-2000), as well as a selection of digital parts made from 2000 onwards. The centerpiece of the exhibition will feature over 600 images spanning 40 years of photography.

Curated by Luís Gouveia Monteiro, the first presentation of this essential archive by the Lisbon zeigeist of the 1980s and 1990s is a unique catalog of those times of freedom and creativity and documents the behind-the-scenes and creative processes of names such as Xutos & Pontapés, Maria João Pires, Sérgio Godinho, Peste & Sida, Carlos Paredes, Radio Macau and Madredeus and the founding of key projects such as the Independente, Já and Espelho newspapers, Galeria Monumental and Maumaus Photography School.
